Everflow EF-160 | Moisture Vapor Barrier (3gal) | (MPC-160)

EF-160 is a 100% solids, two-component epoxy moisture vapor barrier that controls moisture vapor emissions on new or deteriorated concrete — stopping the rising slab moisture that causes epoxy delamination and blistering. At 18 mils it exceeds ASTM F3010 and withstands up to 25 lbs/1000 ft²/24 hrs (100% RH).Apply as a primer on damp, cold, or poorly prepared slabs (concrete cured 14+ days). Potable-water safe, ultra-low VOC (<20 g/L), and CFIA/USDA recognized. Note: a vapor barrier, not a waterproofing membrane.

DESCRIPTION

Stop moisture before it lifts your floor. EF-160 seals damp, vapor-emitting concrete so your epoxy system bonds — and stays bonded.

EF-160 is a 100% solids, two-component epoxy moisture vapor barrier engineered to control moisture vapor emissions on new or deteriorated concrete floors. Rising slab moisture is the #1 cause of epoxy delamination, blistering, and adhesion failure — EF-160 shuts it down. Applied at 18 mils, it exceeds the ASTM F3010 standard for vapor permeance and withstands moisture vapor emission rates up to 25 lbs/1000 ft²/24 hrs (100% relative humidity, 6% by Tramex method).

It's the smart primer for tough conditions: cold and humid environments, damp slabs, and poorly prepared surfaces where ordinary primers fail. It bonds to concrete cured as little as 14 days (use AQUAFLOW-400 deep-penetrating primer on slabs 14–28 days old), and it's even approved for direct contact with potable water.

EF-160 is as strong as it is protective — 15,000 psi flexural strength, 8,000 psi compressive, 6,000 psi tensile, and 80–85 Shore D hardness create a rock-solid foundation for the rest of your system. At under 20 g/L VOC it's LEED v4 low-emitting and carries CFIA/USDA recognition for food-plant use. Available in clear, grey, and black, it primes the slab so you can build your Everflow epoxy or polyaspartic floor on a stable, moisture-controlled base. Note: EF-160 is a vapor barrier, not a waterproofing membrane, and is not designed for areas of high hydrostatic pressure.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Controls Moisture Vapor: Withstands emission rates up to 25 lbs/1000 ft²/24 hrs (100% RH) — prevents the moisture-driven delamination that destroys floor systems.
  • Exceeds ASTM F3010: At 18 mils it surpasses the industry standard for vapor permeance (0.06 perms).
  • Works on Damp or Green Concrete: Designed for cold, humid conditions and damp or poorly prepared slabs; bonds to concrete cured as little as 14 days (with AQUAFLOW-400 on 14–28 day slabs).
  • Potable-Water Safe: Approved for direct contact with potable water.
  • High Strength Foundation: 15,000 psi flexural, 8,000 psi compressive, 6,000 psi tensile, 80–85 Shore D.
  • Ultra-Low VOC: <20 g/L; CFIA/USDA recognized; LEED v4 low-emitting.
  • 3 Colors, Top-Coatable: Clear, grey, and black — prime first, then build your Everflow floor system on top.
