Which PSI product does what

A waterproofing membrane is built in layers, and every product on this page fills one of them. Use this table to find the right pail. Every number is from the product's own page. For how the layers go together on a real deck, read the deck waterproofing guide.

Matching the waterproofing membrane to the job

• Exposed deck with traffic. Primer, base membrane, sand, top coat. The base membrane is never the wearing surface. P-Tuff Classic is not UV stable and B-Tuff 302 NG cannot take direct wear, so both get a top coat.
• Under tile or pavers. P-Tuff Classic in the tiled NOA assembly, or PTS-R12, which is listed for under-tile waterproofing.
• Below grade, planters, foundation walls. T-Shield WC 100, or PTS-R12 at 60 mils. For hydrostatic conditions, the WC 100 page calls for Enviro-Grip 404FC as the primer. P-Tuff Classic is not for below-grade, on-grade or hydrostatic work.
• Pool decks. A rep specifies every one, with the correct Enviro-Grip moisture primer.

The Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance

This line includes the PSI components of the Flexideck C-WD waterproofing system from Polytuff Systems International, which holds Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA No. 25-0604.15, expires 03/06/2031 (March 6, 2031). The Notice of Acceptance states that the system is designed to comply with the Florida Building Code including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code, on concrete decks, to a maximum design pressure of -502.5 psf. The acceptance covers the assembly as a whole, not each product on its own. Three products in this collection are named in it: Top-Shield 5600EF as the top coat, P-Tuff Classic as the base coat, and the Enviro-Grip EP#2 primer. Latux is on the Polytuff Systems International approved applicator list, so the company that supplies the system can also install it. The full Notice of Acceptance is available on request.

Common questions

Which primer goes under P-Tuff Classic?

An Enviro-Grip primer. In the NOA assemblies it goes on at 1 gallon per 300 sq ft. We stock ep#2sc, the low-VOC grade of the #2 primer. The untiled assembly calls for #1, which we do not list, so tell your rep.

Can the base membrane be left exposed?

No. Every base membrane here needs a top coat. Broadcast sand into the wet base coat first.

How much sand do I order?

20 lb per 100 sq ft, broadcast to refusal. Order some margin, since the loose sand is vacuumed off.

Which waterproofing membrane goes on green concrete?

T-Shield WC 100, from 24 hours after the pour. The NOA assembly wants new concrete cured 14 to 28 days.

Why can't I add PSI products to the cart?
