The Lavina floor grinders we carry
Lavina's current machines are the S7 series: a sealed, dust-proof grinding head on a redesigned frame. Every number below is printed on the machine's own product page. All six are three-head planetaries on Lavina quick-change plates.
| Machine | Working width | Heads | Power | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 S7 | 20 in | 3 x 9 in | 7.5 hp electric, single or three phase 200 to 240 V, 30 A | 518 lb |
| 20G S7 | 20 in | 3 x 9 in | 18 hp propane, Kawasaki FS481V | 573 lb |
| 25R S7 | 26.5 in | 3 x 9 in | 15 hp electric, three phase 200 to 240 V (45 A) or 400 to 480 V (30 A), remote | 1,135 lb |
| 31R S7 | 30.8 in | 3 x 13.2 in | 20 hp electric, three phase 200 to 240 V (60 A) or 400 to 480 V (32 A), remote | 1,254 lb |
| 31G S7 | 30.8 in | 3 x 13.2 in | 35 hp propane, Vanguard 993 cc or Kawasaki FX1000 | 1,014 lb |
| 38G Elite | 36.5 in | 3 x 13.2 in | 35 hp propane, Kawasaki FX1000V, remote and self-propelled | 1,585 lb |
Head speed, grinding pressure and water capacity are on each product page. To compare Lavina with Husqvarna and HTG, see floor grinders.
Replaced Elite models
Lavina no longer builds four Elite machines. Their pages stay up with specs for crews servicing machines already in the field:
- 20N Elite, replaced by the 20 S7
- 25 Elite, replaced by the 25R S7
- 32 Elite, replaced by the 31R S7
- 32G Elite, replaced by the 31G S7
Which Lavina grinder for which job
Size the machine to the floor, the power on site and the door it has to fit through. The concrete floor grinder buying guide covers the method. For Lavina:
- Residential and small commercial, indoors. 20 S7 on single or three phase, 518 lb and easy to load. The tool holders run 400 to 1100 rpm, low for coatings and glue, high for polishing. See small and mid floor grinders.
- Same size, no power. 20G S7 on propane for outdoor pads and remote slabs.
- Mid-size commercial. 25R S7, driven by a handheld remote with a 4.3 inch color display, so the operator steers instead of pushing.
- Big commercial and industrial floors. 31R S7 on three phase, 31G S7 on propane, or the 38G Elite for the widest pass in the Lavina line. See large and industrial floor grinders.
The three phase machines come in a 240 V class and a 480 V class. Tell us which one the building has before we quote.
Lavina dust extractors and tooling
A Lavina concrete grinder needs extraction sized to the head. We stock the two 32 inch class extractors:
| Extractor | Airflow, max | Power | Weight | Pairs with |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| V32E | 490 cfm | 11.5 hp turbine, three phase 208 V, 30.4 A (480 V model V32E480) | 620 lb | 31R S7, 30 and 32 inch grinders, 25R S7 |
| V32GE | 470.9 cfm | Kawasaki FX600V propane | 730 lb | 31G S7, 38G Elite |
Both run four collection stages: pre-separator, cyclone, conical M class filter and a HEPA H13 final stage, with Longopac bagging. The V32E is the one for indoor and occupied buildings, since it has no engine exhaust. For the 20 inch machines, the product pages call for a smaller Lavina extractor that we quote on request. Both V32 models are in Lavina vacuums.
Tooling: Lavina quick-change plates carry metal-bond and PCD tooling. The S7 heads rotate left, so use blue PCDs and carbide scrapers on them. Tell us the slab hardness and the coating coming off and we match the diamonds. For the perimeter, an angle grinder with a diamond cup wheel reaches what the machine cannot.

Common questions
What is the difference between Lavina Elite and S7?
S7 is the current series. It has a sealed, dust-proof head and a redesigned frame. Lavina replaced the 20N, 25, 32 and 32G Elite with S7 models. The 38G Elite is not on that list.
Which Lavina grinder runs on single phase?
The 20 S7, on single or three phase 200 to 240 V at 30 A. The 25R S7 and 31R S7 need three phase. The 20G S7, 31G S7 and 38G Elite run on propane.
Is there a Lavina propane floor grinder for indoor work?
Propane machines need ventilation. For closed or occupied buildings, run an electric grinder with the V32E electric extractor.
Is the price on the page what I pay?
No. It is MSRP for reference. Every Lavina machine is quoted, with freight to your address.
Should I rent or buy a Lavina grinder?
One personal floor, rent. Repeat work, buy. The rent vs buy guide shows the break-even.
