Which Husqvarna grinder for which job
Pick the machine by floor size, power on site and how it gets through the door. The concrete floor grinder buying guide walks through all three. For Husqvarna it breaks down like this:
- Garages, basements, small suites. PG 450 or PG 510. Both run on single phase. The PG 450 has a foldable, dividable frame so one person can carry it into a tight room. The PG 510 cuts wider with counter-rotating discs. More options in small and mid floor grinders.
- Outdoor and off-grid slabs. PG 6 P or PG 8 P. Propane, an integrated water tank, no cord and no generator. Propane needs ventilation, so neither belongs in a closed home garage.
- Large commercial and industrial floors with three phase. PG 8 S. Variable disc speed and selectable rotation, with a 240 V class and a 480 V class version. Tell us which one the building has. The wider machines from every brand are in large and industrial floor grinders.
Husqvarna dust extractors and tooling
Grinding concrete puts silica in the air. A Husqvarna concrete grinder needs an extractor that keeps up with it, and each product page names the match:
| Extractor | Airflow | Power | Weight | Pairs with |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DE 35 | About 78 CFM | 120 V, 15 A | About 35 lb | Hand tools and small single-head grinders, wet or dry pickup |
| DE 120 H | 241 CFM | 120 V, 19 A | About 86 lb | PG 450 and PG 510 |
| DE 130 H | 224 CFM | 120 V, 20 A | About 103 lb | PG 510 class grinders |
| T 8600 | 410 CFM | 18 hp propane | 628 lb | PG 6 P and PG 8 P |
The PG 8 S page pairs it with a Husqvarna T 10000 extractor and a C 5500 pre-separator. Those are not listed online, so call and we quote them with the grinder. The propane T 8600 is in Husqvarna vacuums, and every Husqvarna dust extractor we stock is in dust extractors.
Tooling: all five grinders take Husqvarna Redi-Lock plates. Tell us the slab hardness and what you are taking off and we match the diamonds in the quote. For edges and corners the machine cannot reach, an angle grinder with a diamond cup wheel finishes the perimeter to the same profile.
Buying from an authorized Husqvarna dealer
Latux is an authorized Husqvarna dealer. Authorized dealer for every brand we carry, including Lavina and HTG. In practice that means:
- Warranty, parts and technical support go through us. The people who quoted the machine are the people you call when it needs a part or a question answered.
- Sold by quote. Every Husqvarna grinder and extractor here is request-a-quote. The price on the page is MSRP for reference. We confirm current price, voltage version and lead time.
- Freight. Machines ship by freight, quoted to your address. Free UPS Ground over $150 covers supplies, not machines.
- For a fast quote, send your typical job size, the power on site, what you are removing and how the machine gets into the building.
- Pompano Beach counter. 2201 N Andrews Ave, Suite 108. Call to see what is on the floor before you drive over.
- Trade pricing on the coatings and tooling that go with the machine: Contractor, Distributor and VIP tiers. Apply for a trade account.
- Talk to someone. (800) 413-1427, Monday to Friday 8 to 5, or the contact page. English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Common questions
Which Husqvarna floor grinder runs on a standard outlet?
The PG 450 and PG 510 run on single phase 220 to 240 V. The PG 450 also comes in a 100 to 120 V option. The PG 8 S needs three phase, and the PG 6 P and PG 8 P run on propane.
Do I need a Husqvarna dust extractor with the grinder?
You need an extractor sized to the grinder. Dry grinding without one fills the room with silica dust. The table above shows the match for each machine.
Is the price on the page what I pay?
No. It is MSRP, shown for reference. Machines are sold by quote, and the quote includes freight to your address.
Do you still sell HTC grinders?
The current lineup is the Husqvarna PG series on this page. If you run an older machine and need parts or tooling, call us with the model and serial number.
Should I rent or buy a Husqvarna grinder?
One personal floor, rent. Repeat work, buy. The rent vs buy guide shows how to find the break-even.
