3-Car Garage Epoxy Kit

A 3-car garage runs about 600 to 750 square feet, which makes it a two to three kit floor. One EF-100 kit covers 350 to 400 square feet at a standard garage build. Two kits carry 700 to 800 square feet, enough for most 3-car slabs on paper, but a slab at the top of the range that has just been ground will use more material on the first coat than the math suggests. If your floor measures over 700 square feet, or the concrete is rough or porous, order the third kit. Leftover sealed epoxy keeps; a pour that runs dry in the middle of the floor does not.

What a 3-car garage floor needs

• 2 to 3 EF-100 base kits, or EF-150 / EF-155 when the schedule calls for a faster recoat
• 1 metallic pigment pod per base kit: each 160 gram pod tints one 3-gallon kit, so 2 to 3 pods
• 2 polyaspartic topcoat kits: EF-275 or EF-280 sized to the full footage for a uniform wear surface
• Flakes, optional: the 40 pound box is the right size for a full broadcast at this footage
• Tools: a flat squeegee, an 18 inch roller with a pack of spare covers, and spike shoes

Order of work

Grind or etch, vacuum, then pour the base one mixed kit at a time and keep a wet edge across the full width so batch lines never set up. Back-roll, broadcast flakes into the wet film if you are running flake, and let it cure. Scrape and vacuum the loose flake, then roll the topcoat wall to wall in one session.
