Everflow EF-280
EF-280 is a solvent-based, 2-component aliphatic polyaspartic polyurea, a UV-stable clear topcoat that resists yellowing, for thin-to-medium build finishing over solid-color coatings and vinyl flake systems. It delivers a crystal-clear 89.5 GU gloss with superior abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance in a 3-gallon kit that covers up to 600 sq ft, cures fast, and meets CFIA and USDA requirements for indirect food contact.

Everflow EF-280
EF-280 is a 3-gallon polyaspartic floor coating kit, the clear topcoat that seals epoxy, solid-color and flake floors. Garages, shops, showrooms and commercial floors. It's aliphatic, so it won't yellow or chalk in sunlight, and one kit covers about 600 sq ft over an existing coating. Walk on it in 4 to 8 hours.
This was the MPC-280 kit. Only the name changed.

Coverage and cure.
Per 3-gallon kit. Real coverage depends on concrete porosity and the profile of the slab.

Pairs with
Roll EF-280 over an EF-100 base coat or a vinyl flake broadcast from our 25 lb flake box. It's a topcoat, so never apply it to bare concrete. Because it cures fast, mix only what you can spread in 20 to 25 minutes.
What is EF-280 used for?
It's a UV-stable clear topcoat for a thin-to-medium build over solid-color coatings and vinyl flake (chip) systems. It seals in the finish and protects it from wear, chemicals, and sunlight. The final clear layer of a floor system, not a base coat.
How is EF-280 different from EF-275?
They share the same UV-stable polyaspartic performance. EF-280 comes in a larger 3-gallon kit, has a slightly higher solids content (80%), and is built for a thin-to-medium build with more coverage (up to 600 sq ft). EF-275 is the 2-gallon, thin-build version.
Will EF-280 turn yellow?
No, as a true aliphatic polyaspartic it resists yellowing and chalking and keeps a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish in both interior and sun-exposed applications.
How quickly can I reopen the floor?
At 68°F you can recoat in 2 to 4 hours, allow foot traffic in 4 to 8 hours, and vehicle traffic in about a day. Full cure is roughly 7 days.
Can I apply EF-280 directly on concrete?
No, it's a topcoat, not recommended directly on bare concrete. Apply it over a prepared base coat or flake system, and make sure the slab has a moisture barrier to prevent delamination.
How much does one kit cover?
A 3-gallon kit covers about 600 sq ft at 8 mils over an existing coating, or about 400 sq ft at 12 mils over a vinyl flake broadcast system.
Can I tint EF-280?
No. EF-280 ships crystal clear only, and Latux does not offer a color pack for it. Build the color into the layer underneath with a solid-color base coat or a vinyl flake broadcast, then seal it with EF-280 as the clear topcoat.
Why does my polyaspartic floor show tire marks?
Rubber tires can stain a polyaspartic coating through plasticizer migration, and quick stops or starts can leave rubber burn marks. Use mats under parked vehicles where staining is a concern.
Is polyaspartic better than epoxy for a garage floor?
They do different jobs. Epoxy like EF-100 builds the base and bonds to the concrete. Polyaspartic goes on top as the clear coat: it won't yellow in sunlight and it resists abrasion, with just 0.03 g Taber loss. Most garage systems use both. See our Polyaspartic vs Epoxy guide.
How many EF-280 kits do I need for a 2-car garage?
A typical 2-car garage runs about 400 to 500 sq ft. Over an existing coating at 8 mils, one kit covers about 600 sq ft, so one kit does it. Over a vinyl flake broadcast at 12 mils a kit covers about 400 sq ft, so plan on 2 kits.
What temperature can I apply EF-280 in?
Apply between 41 and 86°F. Working time is 20 to 25 minutes at 70°F and gets shorter when it's hot, so mix small batches on warm days.
Is EF-280 slippery when wet?
It tests at about 0.75 DCOF wet (ASTM E303-93). Keep in mind a high-gloss clear coat over a smooth base will feel slicker than a textured flake floor.
What is the VOC content?
Under 100 g/L, LEED v4 low-emitting. If your state has a stricter VOC limit, EF-285 is under 50 g/L.
Can I use EF-280 over a flake floor?
Yes. It's built to seal vinyl flake broadcast (chip) floors. Scrape and vacuum the loose flake first, then roll or squeegee EF-280 at about 12 mils. See our full broadcast flake system guide.
How does shipping work?
Free UPS Ground shipping on orders of $150 or more. A single EF-280 kit qualifies. You can also pick up free at our Pompano Beach warehouse. For large jobs or contractor pricing, message your Latux rep.
