Everflow EF-290 | High Solids Solvent Polyaspartic (2gal)
EF-290 is Everflow's high-build polyaspartic topcoat, the highest-solids clear coat in the line at 90 percent, so it lays down a thicker, more protective film over solid-color coatings and vinyl flake floors in fewer coats. Built for professional installers on limited-downtime jobs, it stays crystal-clear and non-yellowing while adding superior abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance over the color and flake beneath.

Pairs with
Apply EF-290 over Everflow solid-color coatings or a vinyl flake broadcast system. Prime and prepare the slab first, diamond grind concrete to ICRI CSP-2, and build the base before you seal it with this high-build polyaspartic topcoat.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EF-290 used for?
It's a high-build, UV-stable clear topcoat applied over solid-color coatings and vinyl flake (chip) systems. Its high solids content builds a thicker, tougher protective film in fewer coats, the premium clear finish of a floor system.
How is EF-290 different from EF-275, EF-280, and EF-285?
All are UV-stable. EF-290 has the highest solids (90%) for the thickest high-build clear finish. EF-280 is a 3-gallon thin-to-medium build, EF-275 a 2-gallon thin build, both clear polyaspartic topcoats. EF-285 is a clear polyurea primer that bonds to concrete.
Will EF-290 turn yellow?
No, as a true aliphatic polyaspartic it resists yellowing and chalking and keeps a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish in both interior and sun-exposed applications.
How quickly can I reopen the floor?
At 68°F you can recoat in 2 to 4 hours, return foot traffic in 3 to 6 hours, and vehicle traffic in about a day, with full cure in roughly 7 days.
Can I apply EF-290 directly on concrete?
No, it's a topcoat, not recommended directly on bare concrete. Apply it over a prepared base coat or flake system, and ensure the slab has a moisture barrier to prevent delamination.
How much does one kit cover?
A 2-gallon kit covers about 400 sq ft at 8 mils over an existing coating, or about 267 sq ft at 12 mils over a vinyl flake broadcast system.
Can I tint EF-290?
No. EF-290 ships crystal clear only, and Latux does not offer a color pack for it. Build the color into the layer underneath with a solid-color base coat or a vinyl flake broadcast, then seal it with EF-290 as the clear topcoat.
Why does my polyaspartic floor show tire marks?
Rubber tires can stain a polyaspartic coating through plasticizer migration, and quick stops or starts can leave rubber burn marks. This is normal for clear coatings; use mats under parked vehicles where staining is a concern.
What is the working time after mixing?
About 15 to 20 minutes at 70°F. Mix only what you can spread within that window and never leave mixed product sitting in the bucket, where it sets rapidly.
