Everflow EF-285 | VOC Compliant Solvent Polyurea
EF-285 is Everflow's solvent-based aliphatic polyurea coating, a UV-stable primer and base coat in one that bonds directly to diamond-ground concrete and resists yellowing and chalking. Latux stocks it in clear, and it primes and protects in a single fast-curing coat for professional installers on limited-downtime jobs.

Pairs with
Use EF-285 as the UV-stable primer under an Everflow polyaspartic or epoxy floor. Diamond grind concrete to ICRI CSP-2, prime with a moisture barrier such as EF-160 on damp slabs, then build your coating system on top.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EF-285 and what's it for?
It's a UV-stable, fast-curing aliphatic polyurea coating developed as a primer. Latux stocks it in clear, so use it as a UV-stable primer on prepared concrete or as a clear coat inside a multi-coat floor system.
Is EF-285 a polyaspartic or a polyurea?
It's an aliphatic polyurea, part of the same high-performance, UV-stable family. It won't yellow or chalk and provides superior abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance.
What color does it come in?
Clear. Latux sells EF-285 as a clear kit only. We do not stock pre-tinted versions or color packs for it. If the job needs a colored base coat, ask your Latux rep which system fits.
Can I apply EF-285 directly on concrete?
Yes, unlike the clear topcoats EF-275 and EF-280, EF-285 is designed to bond to prepared concrete. Diamond-grind to an ICRI CSP-2 profile and ensure the slab has a moisture barrier to prevent delamination.
How fast does it cure?
At 68°F you can recoat in 2 to 4 hours, return foot traffic in 4 to 8 hours, and vehicle traffic in about a day, with full cure in roughly 7 days.
How much does one kit cover?
A 2-gallon kit covers about 400 sq ft at 8 mils.
How is EF-285 different from EF-275 and EF-280?
EF-285 is a clear polyurea primer and coating that bonds directly to prepared concrete. EF-275 and EF-280 are clear polyaspartic topcoats applied over a finished base, not on bare concrete.
Why does my coating show tire marks?
Rubber tires can stain these coatings through plasticizer migration, and quick stops or starts can leave rubber burn marks. Use mats under parked vehicles where staining is a concern.
