Premera T2 Clear Topcoat for Epoxy, Metallic and Polished Concrete

Premera T2 MCM is a single-component sol-gel clear topcoat you spray down and walk away from. It self-levels with no backroll and bonds without grinding or sanding to polished concrete, terrazzo, tile and existing epoxy, metallic or flake floors. One gallon covers 400 to 800 sq ft, depending on the surface.

What makes it work

Spray it once and let it flow

Self-levels, no backroll
Spray one coat with an acetone-proof pump sprayer and a cone tip, then let it flow out. Premera says to go slow so the film stays wet and reflective.
Bonds without a profile
Silanes in the sol-gel react with the surface instead of locking into scratches, so no grinding or sanding is needed to get a bond. Premera rates it at 1,200+ psi on 800 grit polished concrete, with the concrete failing first.
Wet on wet over metallic
Premera's WOW method sprays T2 into metallic epoxy while it is still wet. It glasses out the pattern and leaves a clear topcoat on the floor the same day.
Gloss finish
The 1 gallon we sell is gloss. Premera also makes T2 in satin and matte. It can look slightly amber or rose in the can and always dries clear.
Numbers that hold up
23 mg Taber loss at 1,000 cycles, Shore D 72, no effect after 1,000 MEK rubs, and a color shift under 0.5 dE after 1,000 hours of accelerated UV.

Pairs with

Pre-seal troweled, ground or lower-grit concrete with Premera QuickSeal. Premera says it doubles or triples T2 coverage on porous concrete. On concrete less than 28 days old, lay down Premera Easy MVB first so you can coat 96 hours after the pour. For a glassy metallic floor, build the base with EF-100 and our metallic pigments, then spray T2 wet on wet inside Premera's timing window.

What can T2 go over?

Densified concrete polished to 800 grit or finer, terrazzo, stone and tile, existing epoxy, metallic and flake floors, and metals like stainless steel, galvanized steel and aluminum. Premera says not to use it over silicone or polymer-modified grout.

Can I put T2 straight on bare concrete?

Only if it is densified and polished to 800 grit or finer. Premera requires a coat of Premera QuickSeal first on troweled, ground, honed or lower-grit concrete, and on any direct-to-concrete job that is not polished that fine.

How much does one gallon cover?

400 to 600 sq ft over concrete sealed with QuickSeal, and 600 to 800 sq ft over densified 800+ grit polished concrete, existing coatings or metal. That is one coat at 3 to 4 mils wet. Porosity and the way you spray change the real number.

How do I use T2 over metallic epoxy?

Use Premera's wet on wet (WOW) method. Let the epoxy flow out for 20 minutes, then you have a 30 minute window to spray T2 while the epoxy is still wet. Wear spikes, keep the wand about 18 inches up and overlap each pass by half. It glasses out the metallic and leaves a clear coat on top the same day. Timing is from Premera's 2025 data sheet.

When can people walk on it?

Premera lists touch dry in 2 to 3 hours, foot traffic after at least 6 to 8 hours, vehicles after at least 3 days, and full cure in 5 to 7 days, under standard lab conditions.

Do I need to backroll?

No. T2 self-levels. Spray one coat with an acetone-proof pump sprayer and a cone tip, in small circles like staining concrete. Premera says not to use a fan tip, because it leaves an uneven film, and to go slow: a rushed coat goes on too thin and does not flow out.

Can I topcoat an epoxy floor that has already cured?

Yes. Clean it well, fix pinholes or bubbles first, and do not screen coarser than 400 grit. On epoxy 1 to 14 days old, Premera says spraying can trap bubbles, so apply it with a flat mop or microfiber pad instead, with 8 oz of xylene added per gallon. T2 does not fix a coating that is losing its bond to the slab.

Which finish does it come in?

The 1 gallon we sell is gloss. Premera also makes T2 in satin and matte; message your Latux rep if you need one of those. In the can it can look clear to slightly amber or rose, depending on temperature and humidity, and it always dries clear.

Is T2 UV stable? Can it go outside?

Yes. Premera rates it UV resistant, with a color shift under 0.5 dE after 1,000 hours of accelerated UV (ASTM G154), and says its sol-gel coatings work indoors and outdoors.

What about new concrete?

On slabs less than 28 days old, Premera calls for Premera HLT first, which is sold today as Premera Easy MVB. With it you can coat 96 hours after the pour. Without it, wait the full 28 days.

What temperature can I apply it in?

Apply when the surface and the air are between 45 and 105F (7 to 40C). The surface must be clean and dry, with no standing water, grease or oil.

What if an area gets scratched?

T2 is highly scratch resistant, not scratch-proof. Lightly sand the spot with 400 grit and touch it up with T2. Clean the floor with a low-pressure hose or a damp rag, and skip abrasive cleaners and scouring pads.

Is it flammable?

Yes. T2 is highly flammable, with a flash point of 15F. Spray only with fresh air moving through the space, keep every ignition source away, and read the SDS before you open the can.

Is there a video on how to apply T2?

Yes. The product gallery includes Premera's own T2 clear coat application training video (English audio). It covers spraying with a cone tip and the wet on wet method over metallic epoxy.

How does shipping work?

Free UPS Ground shipping on orders of $150 or more, so one gallon qualifies. You can also pick up free at our Pompano Beach warehouse. For 5 gallon pails or a large job, message your Latux rep.
